Whispers in the Hallway (Part 3)

Hello everyone, and welcome back to @loveitslight, where creativity shines bright. We are going to continue the series Whispers in the Hallway.

Elena’s heartbeat thundered in her ears as she realized—there was no way out of this without consequences.

Jake clenched his jaw. "We’re not joining them."

Sam tightened his fists. "You can’t control us."

Mia’s brother chuckled, his expression unreadable. "Control? You think this is control?" He gestured to Mia. "She understands the stakes. She knows what happens when you fight back."

Elena felt the weight of his words settle in her chest.

Then Mia spoke—her voice eerily calm.

"They won’t let you walk away."

Jake scoffed. "Watch us."

Then—it happened.

A shadow moved behind Sam.

Elena’s eyes widened. "Sam—"

Before she could warn him, a hand grabbed Sam and yanked him back.

Sam barely managed a shout before they dragged him into the darkness.

Elena lunged forward, but two Ravens blocked her path. "Let him go!" she screamed.

Mia’s brother remained still, watching her with an unsettling smirk.

Elena’s breath hitched. "What are you doing to him?"

Mia didn’t speak. She just stared at Sam disappearing behind a locked door.

Jake lost it. He shoved one of the Ravens aside, fists ready. "I swear—if you hurt him—"

Mia’s brother held up a hand. "Relax. We won’t hurt him."

Elena’s chest heaved. "Then what?"

Mia finally answered.

"He’s being tested."

Elena felt ice crawl up her spine. "Tested?"

Mia nodded. "To see if he’s strong enough to survive us."

Jake’s voice was sharp. "And if he fails?"

Mia’s brother simply smiled.

"Then he disappears."

Mia whispered, "He’s being tested. If he fails, he disappears."

Sam found himself trapped—forced to fight Mia, his own sister.

His sister.

Daniel Mercer had another child. Sam had never known.

Mia fought hard, landing blows as Sam struggled to keep up. But just when he thought she had completely chosen the Ravens, she hesitated.

And then, she turned on them.

Mia helped Sam escape, breaking her loyalty to the Ravens once and for all.

But escaping wasn’t enough.

They needed proof.

Together, they stormed the school’s main office, searching Whitmore’s files.

They found everything.

Fabricated election results. College acceptances have altered. Reputations destroyed on paper.

Elena grabbed her phone. "We send this out. Right now."

And with one click?

Whitmore resigned. The Ravens collapsed.

And Mia’s brother? Gone.

The next day, Ridgewood felt different.

No more whispers. No more manipulation. Just freedom.

Mia sat on the school steps, staring at her phone.

Sam sat beside her. "You did it."

Mia exhaled. "We all did."

Jake leaned back. "We’re legends now."

Elena rolled her eyes, but smiled.

Because he wasn’t wrong.

They had taken down an entire secret society.

And Ridgewood High would never be the same again.

That's it for the series. I hope you enjoyed it, and feel free to tell us how in the comments or email me at ifunanyaumolu24@gmail.com. And always remember to love your light.

My Lyrical Sensation

H ello everyone, Ifunanya here again from @loveitslight. I have a very peculiar post for you today. I had English homework from school, which was to create a 3-verse dizain lyrical poem. If you don't know what that means. it is a 3-verse 10-lined poem about love and hatred, and I decided to share it w ith all of you today. As the world, once bright, fades away, A journey right, never led astray. Light and dark once ruled my way, Yet love still shines in the dark passageway. It hasn’t burned, nor sparked to ignite, Let alone won a fateful fight. Hatred and despite, writing and strife, An untold forthright, a persevering life. But where is the faith once held so dear? My first love—mi amor—once sincere. Letting go of what we had before, Running away from what we endured. Don’t despise or let demise Break the bond—our love’s reprise. No hate, no contrast, just longing for you to last. One more chance, baby—maybe the last. One more night, resting deep in your might. If you ...
